We continue to pave the way in CT surgery for our region. Our surgeons perform a variety of cardiothoracic surgeries from complex medical procedures to minimally invasive robotically-assisted surgery. Our patients are at the heart of everything we do, which is why we focus on the best treatment options for everyone we treat.

Electrophysiology/heart rhythm

Our comprehensive cardiac electrophysiology program is designed to treat all forms of heart rhythm disorders for patients living across Northern Utah. Using start-of-the-art treatment technology, the program specializes in the treatment of atrial fibrillation (Afib), atrial flutter, slow heartbeat (bradycardia), accelerated heartbeat (tachycardia), irregular heart rhythm, and other forms of heart arrhythmia.

Interventional cardiology

Interventional cardiology is a core program and specialty at McKay-Dee Hospital and Intermountain Health. Our interventional cardiologists perform a wide range of minimally invasive therapeutic and diagnostic services, many of which utilize heart catheterization.

The program was developed and is maintained by board-certified and fellowship-trained PAD experts who focus on managing symptoms and slowing down the progression of the disorder in partnership with a patient’s primary care provider.

Structural heart disease program

Our structural heart program combines the talents of cardiothoracic surgeons and specially trained interventional cardiologists to address structural defects in the heart and valves in patients for whom open-heart surgical procedures are not recommended. We offer advanced treatments that include transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter mitral valve repair, left atrial appendage closure for patients with Afib, and patent foramen ovale (PFO) and atrial septal defects (ASDs) repair and closure for patients born with heart development problems.

Vascular surgery and intervention

Our vascular surgeons are equipped to provide care for all types of vascular disease. The program consists of specialty trained surgeons who focus on prevention and quality of life to determine treatment options for each individual person and circumstance.
