The Newly Expanded Cancer Center

The Cancer Centers of Colorado expansion project at St. Mary’s transforms cancer care across western Colorado by significantly increasing both capacity and clinical expertise. With a 30% increase in infusion chairs and a 20% expansion in medical oncology exam rooms, the remodel ensures more patients can receive timely, compassionate care close to home.

The 6,000 – square-foot renovation adds 13 new infusion bays to the medical oncology wing of St. Mary’s Cancer Centers of Colorado making it one of the largest and most advanced in the region.

South Infusion Room

This new, bright, uplifting space affords patients and their caregivers individual infusion bays with increased privacy and comfort while receiving their infusion treatments. These roomy bays allow patients to have ownership of their space while also taking into account the safety and ease of workflow by the nursing staff.

Thank you to FCI Construction for bringing to life this light and airy healing space.

Celebration Wall – Redefining Hope

The new Celebration Wall is a powerful tribute to the courage and resilience of every patient who walks through our doors. Featuring a breathtaking 10-by-20-foot painting of Mt. Garfield by local artist Cori Ward, it’s a space of reflection, comfort, and inspiration.

More than just a visual landmark, the Celebration Wall honors the milestones—both big and small—that define the cancer journey. It is a place where patients, caregivers, and families can pause to recognize progress, share strength, and find meaning in each step forward.

Expansion of Services

This expansion is more than bricks and mortar—it’s a strategic investment in people, programs, and partnerships that redefine what comprehensive cancer care looks like in our region.

To meet growing demand, the center is welcoming two new medical oncologists and one medical oncology nurse practitioner, enhancing the depth and availability of specialized care.

The project also creates dedicated space for Gynecologic Oncology, Palliative Care, Genetic Counseling, and Survivorship/Integrative Care, reinforcing a whole-person approach to healing.

A New Chapter in Cancer Care: The Survivorship Program at St. Mary’s

At St. Mary’s cancer center, survivorship isn’t about looking back—it’s about moving forward, stronger, healthier, and more empowered than ever. Our new survivorship program provides a structured and personalized roadmap for life after treatment, recognizing that the effects of cancer—physical, emotional, financial, and spiritual—can last long after treatment.

Through integrated services and expert collaboration, the program supports every aspect of healing and health. Survivors will benefit from:

  • Personalized monitoring and prevention plans
  • Specialized consultations in genetics, fertility, and integrative medicine
  • Coordinated care between oncology and primary care
  • Psychosocial and emotional support
  • Resource navigation and practical assistance
  • Education and empowerment opportunities
  • Access to research and innovation to manage long-term effects

To ensure this vision becomes a lasting reality, the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation is leading a fundraising campaign to endow a full-time Medical Director for the Survivorship Program. This investment will secure enduring leadership, elevate the quality and continuity of care, and build a legacy of wellness and strength for every survivor.

Together, we are redefining what it means to heal—supporting survivors not just in recovery, but in reclaiming their lives.
