Cardio-Obstetrics Care in Denver

As a regional leader in both heart and obstetrical care, Intermountain Health Heart and Vascular has developed one of the metro area's only cardio-obstetrics programs located at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver and Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton.

Designed to keep both moms and babies safe and cared for before, during, and after pregnancy, the Cardio-Obstetrics Program provides specialized care with a cross-specialty team of board-certified physicians.

Clinical Care and Services

For women with a history of heart disease that are pregnant, or who want to become pregnant, the Cardio-Obstetrics program offers the best possible care to ensure ongoing health and a positive birth experience, including the following services:

  • Preconception counseling and risk management for women with a pre-existing heart condition or other cardiovascular risk factors.
  • Comprehensive monitoring and diagnostics including Echocardiography and Stress Testing.
  • Flexible and convenient access to an interdisciplinary care team through in-person and virtual visits.

Program Candidates

The Cardio-Obstetrics Program accepts women that are pregnant or who want to become pregnant with a history of heart disease, including:

  • Arrhythmia or heart palpitations
  • Hypertension or Pulmonary Hypertension
  • Syncope or low blood pressure
  • Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome
  • A family or personal history of cardiovascular disease
  • Congenital or valvular heart diseases including heart murmur
  • Heart Failure or Cardiomyopathy
